In astronomy Astro-Professionals use algebra, calculus, statistics and probability, but also trigonometry and logarithms to calculate things like movement, distances and even the chemical characteristics of distant stars and galaxies.

AstroVis uses all kinds of mathematic topics in own developed Analytics and AstroVis_Objects software components. AstroVis_Objects is a web- and database platform for visualizing the relationships and effects of the individual components of a setup through key figures, graphical analyses, and simulations. In particular, the graphic blending of image fields with your own, customized equipment, including camera rotation, vignetting, and desired framing with coordinate calculation of image sections from real images taken by astrophysicists, is helpful in planning your own imaging sessions.

Out of interest in ergonomic software solutions I began developing parts of the ABIS Year 8 (MYP3) math curriculum into an English-language, interactive online system with integrated quizzes and publishing it on my website. It is user-friendly, graphically supported, and offers numerous step-by-step solutions. In the future, I plan to provide the most important math topics for grades 8 to 10 as bundled resources on the AstroVis website for interested students. Visit us and test your knowledge.
