Die All-in-One-Plattform für die Planung und Analyse Ihrer Astro-Sessions
The all-in-one platform for planning and analysing your astro sessions

Was ist die AstroVis Objects Suite?

What is the AstroVis Objects Suite?

🌐 1. All-in-One Web- und Datenbank-Plattform

🌐 1. All-in-One Web and Database Platform

The AstroVis Objects Suite is a comprehensive platform for preparing astro sessions with different equipment – using key figures, graphical analyses, framing, and simulations on real deep-sky images. Reference images are not stored in the database, only the URL and the capture parameters. The images themselves remain where they were published.

📅 2. Vollständig integrierter Session Planer

📅 2. Fully Integrated Session Planner

The AstroVis Session Planer is fully integrated with the database. After selecting an image, telescope, and camera, the program branches to the planning page with all graphical information about the object's visibility.

🌙 3. Night Optimizer mit Score-System

🌙 3. Night Optimizer with Score System

Instead of manual object selection, the Night Optimizer can be used. It generates a score-sorted list that mixes objects from the AstroVis database and – if activated – from the Simbad catalogue. The score assesses which objects are suitable for astrophotography at the location, in the visibility window, at the object's altitude, the moon phase, and the capture time.

🗺️ 4. Interaktive Sternkarte Astro_Sky

🗺️ 4. Interactive Star Map Astro_Sky

The exact position of the image, including image rotation, can be displayed directly from the Session Planer in the self-developed interactive star map Astro_Sky with azimuthal projection. The FOV rectangle behaves physically correctly – it curves in perspective at the horizon, partially disappears behind it, and rotates exactly with the stars.

📐 5. Mathematik trifft Astronomie

📐 5. Mathematics Meets Astronomy

Mathematics and astronomy are inextricably linked, for mathematics provides the universal language and the tools to understand and predict the laws of the cosmos.

📐 Mathematik trifft Astronomie – im Detail

📐 Mathematics Meets Astronomy – in Detail

  • Geometrische Reihen: Sternzählung in Kugelsternhaufen (siehe Praxisbeispiel).

Many trigonometric functions from the AstroVis Math Studio have floweduted directly into); the Objects Suite – especially in cel">estial mechanics (RA/DECLiter projection) and azimuthal projection.

  • Trigonometry: Projection of RA/DEC coordinates to azimuth and altitude.
  • Geometry: Calculation of FOV rectangles and image rotation in the sky.
  • Splines: Catmull-Rom spline for the smoothed Milky Way band.
  • Equations: Score system of the Night Optimizer for visibility and moon phase.
  • Geometric series: Star counting in globular clusters (see practical example).

🔭 Praxis-Beispiel: Wie viele Sterne hat ein Kugelsternhaufen?

🔭 Practical Example: How many stars does a globular cluster contain?

qm = 100,4 = 2,512

N = ( qmΔm − 1 ) / ( qs − 1 )

N ≈ 143.300 Sterne

Vergleich mehrerer Kugelsternhaufen:

From the definition of the magnitude scale (5 mag = factor 100) follows necessarily:

qm = 100.4 = 2.512

This is a fixed law of nature. The slope factor qs, however, comes from stellar statistics and describes the luminosity function – it varies from cluster to cluster.

The formula:

N = ( qmΔm − 1 ) / ( qs − 1 )

Example M10: With total magnitude 6.6, lower limit mag 20, and qs = 2.5:

N ≈ 143,300 stars

Literature value: ~150,000 – remarkably close!

Comparison of several globular clusters:

# Haufen Cluster qs mag Δm Berechnet Calculated Literatur Literature
⭐ M10 2,50 6,6 13,4 143.300 ~150.000
🥇 M5 2,45 5,6 14,4 277.000 ~250.000
🥈 M13 2,55 5,8 14,2 382.000 ~400.000
🥉 M3 2,60 6,2 13,8 533.000 ~500.000
5. M92 2,55 6,4 13,6 337.000 ~330.000
6. ω Centauri 2,72 3,9 16,6 9.513.000 ~10.000.000

🧮 Überprüfe die Ergebnisse selbst im AstroVis Math Studio unter „Geometric Sequences" – vergleiche M10 mit Omega Centauri.

🧮 Verify the results yourself in the AstroVis Math Studio under "Geometric Sequences" – compare M10 with Omega Centauri.
